Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum )

Kovalam Beach

Kovalam is the most famous beach in Kerala which attracts tourists from all over the world. It is noted for its silvery sands, hilly surroundings and coconut tree growths. Kovalam beach is Crescent shaped. It has mainly three parts called Light House Beach, Hawah Beach and Samudra Beach. Kovalam with its Coconut groves, clean sands and cultural amalgamation assures you a wonderful experience. Kovalam has a variety of centers for the rejuvenating oil massages, yoga and mediation centers, traditional arts centers and sumptuous cuisines.

Shanghumugham Beach

Sangumugham is a popular beach in the suburbs of the city. It is probably the busiest of the beaches as so many people gather here for spending their evening time and relaxing. It is a very clean beach. Another attraction here is the sculpture of the 35 Meter nude mermaid. Watching sunset from here is really wonderful experience.

Veli Beach and Tourist Village

Veli means marriage. It is place where the lake weds the sea. Veli Tourist Village is a popular picnic spot of Thiruvananthapuram. This large recreational centre is a sheltered lagoon that offers beautiful landscape gardens. It is really worth taking a water ride through the lake

Varkala Beach

The Varkala beach is 55 Kms away from Trivandrum city.The beach is a pilgrim center also.Papanasham-Kills all Sins-is not that crowded and hence is a very calm place to relax.The landscapes around is really awesome with steep cliffs and silver sands.The sunset here is a must to see enrapturing sight.

Kollam (Quilon)

Thirumullavaram Beach

Thirumullavaram beach is comparatively a small beach but its really beautiful. The main visitors are domestic people. A visit to this place would be good if you are keen to get the rural life of Kerala. The distance to Thirumullavaram Beach is 6 Kms from Kollam.

Thangasseri Beach

This small beautiful village side beach is noted for historical importance. This place was having great strategic importance in the past. You would love to watch the remains of the ancient settlement here. The remains include the Light Hosue, 18th century churches and a Portuguese fort. The travel distance to Thangasseri Beach is 5 Kms from Kollam.

Alleppey (Allappuzha)

Alappuzha Beach

Alleppey is famous for its backwaters and the marvelous beach. This beach is best for sea bath. Boating facilities are available here. There is a beautiful children's park here with many recreational facilities.

Ernakulam (Cochin)

Cherai Beach

Cherail Beach and Island is the most famous beach in Ernakulam district. The calm and shallow beach with its beautiful landscapes and nearby paddy fields provides the best place for relaxing and rejuvenating. Recreational activities boat cruising, cultural event etc are the other specialties of this place. Excellent accommodation facilities of international standards are available in Cherai Island.

Wellington Island

This is manmade Island. It was built by the British in for constructing the harbor. It is names after the erstwhile Viceroy of India-Lord Wellington. This island is place of great commercial and strategic importance. Boat service is available from this island to Ernakulam city.

Bolgatty Island & Palace

Bolgatty Island could be accessible by boats from the Marine drive.The main attraction here is the palace built by Duth in 1774.The palm trees and golf course together adds beauty to this place.

Malappuram

Padinharekara Beach

The spectacular place is the meeting place of two rivers - Bharatha Puzha, Tirur Puzha and the Arabian sea.

Vallikunnu Beach

Vallikunnu Beach, the cute ,calm, undisturbed beach is noted for its silence. The coconut grove around gives you a serene place to relax. Very near to this place is located the Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary.

Kozhikode (Calicut)


Kozhikode Beach

This beach is very near the city and hence is the main place where domestic people visit in the evening.

Beypore Beach

Beypore beach is very famous for its 2 Km long ramp like bridge leading into the sea. This bridge was made by piling gigantic stones into the sea. Walking through this pathway would be an enthralling experience. Standing at end of the pathway you would feel as if you ar3 standing in the middle of the sea. Beypore is famous for its ancient harbor, ship building industry and fishing center also and is located 10 Kms from Kozhikode Town.

Kappad Beach

Kappad beach is noted for its historical importance. The Portuuges navigator Vasco De Gama first landed in India here. It was the beginning of the European domination of India. There is a small monument here in the beach.

Kannur


Ezhimala Beach

The Ezhimala Beach is noted for its historical and strategic importance. The area has a Naval Academy and hence is a restricted area. The sea has an unusually deeper shade of blue. The sea shore sand has an interesting texture. You can also find many rock pillars and a very ancient burial center here. The major battled between the 2nd centaury dynasties like Chera snd Cholas took place here..

Moppila Bay

This bay iis a natural fishing harbour. The famous Dutch fort St.Angelo's fort is very close to this. The rough sea and inland water is separated by a tall sea wall stretching out.

Muzhappilangad Beach

This drive in beach is located 15 Kms away from Kannur.You will love driving the full stretch 4 Kms of the beach.
is located 15 kms south of Kannur. This is probably the only drive-in beach in Kerala and you can drive for the entire 04 km stretch of beach. From the beach you will get the view of the beautiful, privately held Dharmadam beach.

Payyambalam Beach

The beach is just 2kms from the city. The beach is the most important domestic picnic spot.The location is really calm with soothing atmosphere. There is an important cremation ground here. Many famous personalities of the state were cremated here.

Kasargode

Bekal Beach

The view of the fort and the panoramic view of the sea from the fort are really breathtaking. One can really feel the blended beauty of the sea, sand and the land.Palm trees swaying in the wind add beauty to the land.

Kappil Beach

This beach is not that explored and is rather a secluded one.It is just 6kms from the Bekkal fort. The main attraction here is the cliff where you can climb up. The panoramic view of the sea from the cliff is really breathtaking.
